Merve Oney Barlas is the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of TurkNet; also a member of the Management Committee. Prior to joining TurkNet, Merve worked for DgPays and Mapfre Insurance Company Turkey as chief legal counsel. Before her career as an in-house counsel, she worked for the following law firms: Herguner Bilgen Ozeke and Salans Turkey (now Dentons), where she specialized in corporate law and M&A transactions. Merve obtained her LL.B. from Galatasaray University and spent six months as an exchange student at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She obtained an LL.M. from Columbia University in New York before joining Criterion Economics in Washington, D.C. She is a dual-qualified lawyer in Turkey and the United States (New York Bar).
