Dr Shamim Ahmad heads the Intellectual Property function of Aurigene Discovery Technology Limited. Aurigene is a specialized Biotech focused on oncology and inflammatory diseases and is a subsidiary of Dr Reddys. Dr Ahmad is responsible for overall patent portfolio management and providing a strategy for the alignment of IP with technology and business. Before joining Aurigene he has worked with companies like Glenmark and Lupin in various capacities. He completed his Post-graduation and Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi. Besides that, he is licensed to practice as a patent agent before the Indian Patent office.
